Handpoke as Personal Ritual — A Slower Way to Mark
With a smaller group of 8 participants, this workshop offered a more introspective continuation of Workshop 1. Hosted by A Space Gallery and guided by Sumi Zhang, the session delved into handpoke tattooing as a personal ritual and embodied form of drawing. Students explored the meditative aspects of handpoke—its slowness, care, and intentionality—while deepening their technical and conceptual approach. This setting encouraged experimentation and reflection, inviting participants to see tattooing as not only a visual practice, but a deeply felt, personal one.
